Preparations are underway for Camp Good News here in Honduras! This year is special as it marks the 25th year of camp. It is scheduled for Jan 2-7, 2012. We are praying for 150 campers this year. Many families have a hard time financially and paying for camp is a challenge. That is why CEF Honduras does everything possible to keep costs down for camp. We get donations of food that go a long way but still we have to pay to rent the camp, rent buses to transport the children for the week among other costs. Currently we are raising funds to help cover the expenses of camp and are looking for people who would sponsor a child to be able to attend this year. Many come from non Christian homes, some come from orphanages and this may be the only chance during the year they may hear the Gospel and experience God's love for them. The total cost for a child to attend camp is $60. Not much at all compared to many camps in the US but that's a fair amount of money for people who struggle each day financially. Please consider sponsoring a child for camp or donating any amount to help keep it affordable for the families here.
