Camp Good News
Posted by Ashley Hoover
Last week I was privileged to help with CEF's Camp Good News again. It was five action packed days with every second something to do. We had around 60 campers this year, including staff we totaled 88 people. My official job this year was Organized Game Director, Snack Shack Boss, Official Points Tallier and Bonfire Starter (yes, those are actual job descriptions. Kinda. ;)). When I wasn't busy in any of those areas I helped out in the kitchen. This year's theme was Sailors for Christ so all the Bible lessons, games, devotionals, etc. revolved around that and the counselors had a lot of fun, and did an amazing job dramatizing the lessons this year. I was impressed.
I haven't heard final statistics yet (if one can really trust statistics when it comes to spiritual things) but from what I saw at camp, at least 7 children made professions of faith in Christ during the week. Please pray for those children that they would grow each day in Christ.
