Missions Monday

"Today Christians spend more money on dog food then missions"  - Leonard Ravenhill

•Less than 1% of Christian revenue is spent on evangelism to the unevengelized peoples.

•Christians spend more on the annual audits of their churches and agencies ($810 million) than on all their workers in the non-Christian world.

•Annual church embezzlements by top custodians exceed the entire cost of all foreign missions worldwide. Embezzling from the Church - $16 Billion per year.

•Total Christian spending on foreign missions – $15 Billion.

Wow, that's quite the qoute in the 'titular':) I would not be suprised if it's accurate though, my co-worker just had his dog in for surgery last week after swallowing a squeaker toy a month ago.

A relay race across Iowa was started last year and the proceedes went to RHI mission in Africa. This year, just 10% are going there, the rest is going to a breast cancer charity which in our society has adequate publicity and funding I feel.

Once again, Jesus is the answer: We have salvation because He is the way, have day-to-day reality because He is the truth, and experience a hopeful eternity now because He is life. An eternal perspective shure helps to correctly prioritize!

btw, the bouce house blower was a super cool idea!

Nice use of the word of the day Ben! I couldn't find exact statistics to back that up but I would belive it.

That's sad that not all the money from that race is going to missions this year. I agree that breast cancer has plenty of advocates and donations already.

He definetly is the answer, I like the way you put it.

(and yes, using the blower was a lot easier than trying to fan them by hand :))
